I have a spare fund of Rs 1 lakh. I want to put it as a lumpsum investment in a few mutual fund schemes for about three years. Can you please suggest the best mutual funds to invest this amount right now?

Since you have an investment horizon of less than three years, you may consider investing in debt funds. Equity markets can be volatile in the short-term, debt is comparatively a safer option. You may consider investing in a short-term debt mutual fund scheme.

You can look at HDFC Short Term Opportunities Fund or Franklin India Short Term Income Plan for your investments.

If you are a new investor, we would suggest taking the help of a seasoned mutual fund advisor or a financial planner who may guide you better with personalised investment advice.
