HSBC Midcap Fund turns Rs 10,000 monthly SIP into Rs 2.43 crore since inception
If the same SIP amount was invested five years ago, the value would have been Rs 9.97 lakh with an XIRR of 20.45%, and in the last three years, the value would have been Rs 4.68 lakh with an XIRR of 17.93%.

Launched on August 9, 2004, a lumpsum investment since its inception would have been Rs 45.15 lakh with a CAGR of 18.92%. If the same lumpsum investment was made 10 years ago, the value would have been Rs 4.59 lakh now with a return of 16.44%, and in the last five years, it would have been Rs 2.26 lakh with a CAGR of 17.71%.
Over the past 1 year, the scheme has delivered 17.83% returns. Over the past 3 years, 5 years and 10 years, the scheme has delivered 23.17%, 17.71% and 16.44% CAGR returns, respectively, as on July 31, 2026.
“The completion of 22 years is a significant milestone for HSBC Midcap Fund and reflects our commitment to a disciplined, bottom-up investment approach. Over the years, our focus has remained on identifying quality businesses with sustainable earnings and long-term growth potential,” said Cheenu Gupta, SVP Equity & Fund Manager.
Gupta further said that, “We remain constructive on the medium-term outlook for the midcap segment, with improving return on equity and healthy earnings growth providing a supportive backdrop. Going forward, we will continue to focus on businesses with strong fundamentals and structural growth opportunities, while maintaining a differentiated approach to stock selection.”
The fund is managed by Cheenu Gupta and Mayank Chaturvedi. The fund is benchmarked against Nifty Midcap 150 - TRI.
As of July 31, 2026, the portfolio comprised 55 equity stocks, with an active share of 72.93%. The fund follows an investment framework centred on Quality of Business, Quality of Management, Quality of Earnings and Quantum of Earnings, complemented by a top-down assessment of the broader market environment, according to a release by the fund house.
The scheme continues to identify opportunities across electrical equipment, retailing, industrial manufacturing, NBFCs and private banks, where it sees structural growth drivers and favourable business fundamentals, the release further said.
The fund is suitable for investors seeking long-term wealth creation and who want to invest in equity and equity-related securities of midcap companies. The scheme is classified as “very high risk” according to the riskometer of the fund.

The fund invests 65-100% in equity and equity-related securities of midcap companies, 0-35% in equity and equity-related securities of companies other than midcap companies, 0-35% in debt securities and money market instruments including cash and cash equivalents, and 0-10% in units issued by REITs/InvITs.
