I want to invest an extra Rs 6,000 more via SIPs in other funds. Please suggest suitable schemes for me. I am looking for a long-term investment of 10 years and above. Can you please advise?

Harpreet Singh, a Certified Financial Planner (CFP), responds:
You have considered a good time horizon. Your current exposure is tilted towards midcap funds. Midcap funds have outperformed as compared to the largecap funds in the last few years and can continue to give good returns in the next 10 years, especially if invested through the systematic investment route.
However, that might increase the interim risk to the portfolio. To balance your risk, you can allocate Rs 4,000 and Rs 2,000 to largecap funds and midcap funds respectively from your fresh investment. If you want to stay aggressive, you can keep the allocation slightly biased in favour of midcap funds.
All your existing funds are good and you can increase investment in the same schemes. For additional schemes, it is advisable that you seek help of a qualified financial planner.
