I have some investments in mutual fund- regular plans. Now I want to convert all these schemes to direct plan. Can I do this? If yes how can I do this? Is it a good idea?

Shweta Jain, Founder & CEO, Investography responds:

If you change the schemes to direct, it will be a financial transaction. If the schemes have exit loads, they will be applicable too and the transaction will attract capital gains too. You should consider moving these gradually as and when you make changes to your portfolio as per your requirement rather than doing everything at one go.
