I have been investing in the following mutual funds through SIP since May 2018: ICICI Prudential Bluechip Fund, IDFC Sterling Value Fund. Both the funds are down these days. Should I sell or stay invested?

We have been getting similar queries every day since the last few months. First, most equity mutual funds have been offering negative returns in the last one year. You can check the key stock indices and verify this fact. You should always check the performance of your scheme against its benchmark and the category average to get a clearer picture.

You are investing in a good large cap mutual fund and an average value-oriented scheme. Since you have not shared your goals, investment horizon, and risk profile, it is not possible to comment about the suitability of these schemes. Large cap schemes are meant for conservative investors and value-oriented schemes are meant for investors who want to invest in value stocks. Just make sure that these schemes are in line with your investment objective and risk profile.
