BCCL
I am investing in Franklin India Smaller Companies Fund via SIPs for the last two years. But it is lagging behind its category average in the one-year, three-year and 5-year time frame. Should I switch to some other scheme? Please suggest some good schemes in the same category. I am 35 years old and my investment horizon is 15 years with an aggressive risk profile.

Apoorva Vohra, Founder, Finolutions Wealthcare, responds:

I think you should continue with the scheme for some more time and re-evaluate after six months. Recently, Sebi has asked mutual fund houses to rationalise their schemes and, in simpler terms, asked them to operate within prescribed boundaries. In the coming days, well disciplined mutual funds will be rewarded better. Despite its recent performance, it is better to stay put in a disciplined (meaning process oriented) mutual fund house like Franklin Templeton.
