I am 36 years old. My portfolio:
1) Kotak Select Focus Fund (G): Rs 2,000
2) Aditya Birla Sun Life Equity Fund (G): Rs 2,000
3) Motilal Oswal MOSt Focused Multicap 35 Fund (G): Rs 2,000
4) HDFC Mid Cap Opportunities Fund (G): Rs 2,000
5) ICICI Prudential Balanced Fund (G): Rs 2,000
My risk profile is moderate. I am investing for my child’s education. I want to build a corpus of Rs 50 lakh. My investment horizon is more than seven years. Is my portfolio good or does it need any modification? I want to increase my SIP amount. Should I increase it among the five or go for a new one? Which funds should I go for among the five of these?

Ankita Narsey, a mutual fund advisor, responds:

Your portfolio is a multicap portfolio and well-diversified. Continue your SIPs in the existing funds. You can increase your SIP amount in any of the existing multicap fund instead of adding a new one.

You can increase your SIP in Aditya Birla Sun Life Equity Fund and Kotak Select Focus Fund. Be disciplined with your SIPs and regularly increase your SIP amount to achieve your goals. Do not forget to monitor your investments at regular intervals.
