I am a beginner in mutual funds, and I did some research and shortlisted the following funds for monthly SIPs.

HDFC Mid-Cap Opportunities Fund - Regular (G)
SBI Small Cap Fund - Regular (G)
Invesco India Contra Fund (G)

I would need your advice on these funds’ performance and what can I expect as an investor.

You have not shared your investor profile with us. We believe that investors should select mutual funds based on their goals, investment horizon and risk profile. Since you have not shared these details with us, it is not possible to comment about their suitability to you.

A word of caution: Mid and smallcap schemes are typically recommended for equity mutual fund investors with very high risk-taking capacity. You must ensure that your risk profile is in line with these schemes. Also, you should have a long investment horizon of seven to 10 years.

It is not possible to predict the performance of schemes. Their past record only gives you an indication about their prospects. That’s why it is important to keep track of your investments and review their performance regularly.
