I was just reading one of your post and that brought me here. Can you guide me on how to invest a lumpsum of Rs 70,000 in a diversified mutual fund portfolio? My risk profile is moderate. My investment horizon is minimum five years. My personal choice is ABSL Frontline Equity Fund. Please correct me if I am wrong.

It is always better to stagger your investments while investing in equity mutual fund schemes. It will hep you to spread your investments over a period and avoid catching the market at a certain level. You may stagger your investment over a few weeks or months, based on your comfort.

Since you have a moderate risk profile, you should invest mostly in one or two multicap schemes like Motilal Oswal Multicap 35 Fund, Mirae Asset India Equity Fund, SBI Magnum Multicap Fund, Parag Parikh Long Term Equity Fund, and Kotak Standard Multicap Fund. You may also diversify your portfolio by investing a small part of your corpus in a largecap scheme like ABSL Fronline Equity Scheme to reduce the overall risk in your portfolio.
