I have Rs 50,000 at my disposal. I want to invest the sum in mutual funds. I have a moderate-to-aggressive risk appetite. I wanted to know if it would be good to invest this money as lumpsum in schemes or should I do it in form of SIP in one or two schemes. There is no issue of time duration. What should be best way forward? Please guide.

It is always better to stagger your investments in equity mutual fund schemes. You can invest Rs 50,000 in five months.

Since you have a long-term investment horizon and a moderate risk appetite, you may invest in a good multicap scheme. Multicap schemes invest across market capitalisations. That means the fund manager has the freedom to invest in largecap, midcap and smallcap stocks based on his outlook.
