I am investing in DSP BlackRock scheme – DSPBR Small Cap Fund and DSPBR Mid Cap Fund - since December 2017 (Rs 3,000 per month). These schemes are going down these days (-6.7 per cent). Should I continue with them or exit? They seem very risky. Could you please tell me what is happening?

You are investing in a smallcap and midcap scheme. Smallcap and midcap stocks have seen sharp correction recently. That is why your schemes are down.

Smallcap and midcap schemes are meant for aggressive investors with a large risk appetite and a very long investment horizon. We recommend them to investors only if they have an investment horizon of at least seven to 10 years. These schemes can be extremely risky and volatile in the short term, but they have the potential to offer superior returns in the long term.
