Should I exit DSP Natural Resources & New Energy Fund?

I have invested Rs 60,000 in DSP Natural Resources and New Energy Fund from Sep 2017 to Aug 2018. The schemes' current valuation is less than my invested amount. Should I exit the scheme and switch to some other fund? My purpose was to go for a thematic fund and at that time this was really giving good returns?

If you wish to invest in thematic funds then you should have some understanding of the theme. What will drive the growth of the theme in the future, what are the negative factors surrounding it and how it will impact the companies associated with the theme if any under performance comes will it be prolonged or short driven and many other such factors. Also, one year is a very less time to judge any thematic funds. You should have a minimum horizon of 5-7 years. Unless there are reasons for the underperformance of the theme in future you should be holding the fund. If you do not understand the theme then good to exit and stick to diversified funds.
