I invested Rs 50,000 in Franklin India Smaller Companies Fund (growth) on 9-1-2018. The scheme has been giving negative returns since then. The current value of my investment is Rs 37,000. Should I stay invested in the scheme or switch to another scheme? I have a time horizon of 10 years.

Neeraj Chauhan, Certified Financial Planner & CEO of The Financial Mall, responds:

Franklin India Smaller Companies is a consistent underperformer. You can consider exiting of the the scheme. If you wish to invest in small cap mutual funds as per your asset allocation, you may consider investing in SBI Small Cap Fund or Axis Small Cap Fund.
