Radhakrishnan may be joining Sundaram Mutual Fund as its new head

Established in 1996, Sundaram MF, a fully-owned subsidiary of Sundaram Finance, is ranked among the top 20 players in the Indian MF industry.

Anand Radhakrishnan, the outgoing equity chief investment officer of Franklin Templeton Mutual Fund, is said to be joining Sundaram Mutual Fund, according to three people familiar with the development. The Chennai-based senior fund manager will likely join the city-headquartered asset manager with assets under management of Rs 52,000 crore of the domestic MF business as its new head, they said.

Radhakrishnan was not available for comment, while an email sent to Sundaram Mutual Fund did not elicit any response.

This would be his second stint in Sundaram Mutual after an eight-year innings as a fund manager there till 2004. Since 2004, Radhakrishnan has managed funds at Franklin for nearly two decades. At Franklin, he managed some of the flagship schemes of the fund house including Franklin India Equity Fund and Franklin India Bluechip Fund.
