Assuming an annual return of 12% on your investments, you need to invest around Rs 43,000 every month to create a corpus of Rs 1 crore in 10 years. You need to invest more or revise your targets. You can also start to invest more every time there is an increase in your salary. Assuming an annual returns of 12%, you will be able to create a corpus of Rs 69.7 lakh by investing Rs 30,000 every month for the next 10 years.
You are currently investing in two IT funds. Sector or thematic funds are not recommended to regular investors. Every sector goes through cycles and one has to enter and exit these sectors at the right time to make money. Otherwise, you will incur losses. You should invest in a regular equity fund that matches your goals, investment horizon, and risk profile. For example, if you are conservative investor, you should invest in a large cap mutual funds. Moderate investors can invest in flexi cap mutual funds.
