You have not mentioned whether the corpus is meant for her higher education or schooling. If you are investing for a long term, you may consider investing in equity mutual fund schemes. However, you have to choose equity mutual fund schemes based on your risk profile. You have not mentioned your risk profile in your message. So, here are a few pointers: one, if you are conservative equity mutual fund investor, you may consider investing in aggressive hybrid schemes (they invest in a mix of equity (at least 65 per cent) and debt) or largecap mutual fund schemes. If you have a moderate risk profile, you may consider investing in multicap schemes. Aggressive investors with a high tolerance for risk and volatility can invest in midcap and smallcap schemes. Remember to choose a scheme that matches your risk profile.
