The Edelweiss Gold and Silver ETF FoF is the oldest gold and silver combined fund in India and was launched on September 14, 2022.

Silver, while it has had a stellar run recently, remains a volatile metal, and it needs to be blended with the stability of gold, Gupta mentioned in the post.


The price movements of silver are often sharp and influenced by industrial demand, especially from sectors like renewable energy and electronics. This is why silver works best when blended with the stability of gold, which continues to be one of the most trusted and resilient stores of value across market cycles.

In her previous posts, Gupta talked about Edelweiss Multi Asset Omni FoF in response to growing investor interest in hybrid style index funds and FoFs being a replacement for them.

The CEO posted on social media platform X, “I have got a bunch of requests on creating hybrid index funds, and currently, there is not a regulatory framework for that. I do believe FoFs accomplish much of that.”

Gupta highlights Edelweiss Mutual Fund’s new Multi Asset Omni FoF, which provides diversified exposure across asset classes through a static allocation of 65% allocation to large and midcap-oriented equities, 20% to gold and silver divided equally, and 15% to debt.

Post this, Gupta said that investors often struggle to determine the right mix between gold and silver and when to adjust their holdings, so when Edelweiss Mutual Fund launched the industry’s first gold-silver FoF three years ago. The fund house believed both in the asset class being undervalued and in the power of a simple 50:50 gold–silver combination, Radhika Gupta mentioned.
