Is my mutual fund portfolio good?

I am investing Rs 50,000 in mutual funds for the last three months with advice from my financial advisor. I have a total of 14 mutual fund schemes. I am paying on monthly basis. My advisor told me that I will get at least Rs one lakh after 15 years of my investment. Will you please advice me on this?

Without proper inputs we would not be able to comment on your investments. A few quick observations: you do not need 14 schemes. A normal investor does not need more than four to five schemes. Over-diversification would result in duplicating the portfolios and compromise the overall return from your mutual fund portfolio. Mutual funds do not guarantee any returns. So, your advisor is making some assumptions and giving you an indicative return.
