I am 27 years old, recently married. Below is my portfolio :
Axis Long Term Equity Fund - Rs 5,000 per month
SBI Bluechip Fund- Rs 2,000 per month
Franklin India Smaller Companies Fund- Rs 3,000 per month

Apart from these schemes, I have registered in HDFC Balanced Fund for SIP of Rs 10,000 per month. I am open to taking high risk. SBI Bluechip and Franklin, I am considering for short term goals of around 5-10 years and Axis for building retirement corpus. Is my allocation appropriate?

Shifali Satsangee, Independent Financial Advisor, responds:

Since you have not specified the amount of corpus you require at retirement or for the short term goals, I would be unable to decipher if the allocation is appropriate or not. But since your portfolio lacks a multicap scheme, which should be an essential element or part of your core portfolio, you may add Birla Sun Life Equity Fund or DSP BlackRock Opportunities Fund to support your goals. The schemes that you are investing are good schemes.
