I am 28 years old, I am new to investing in mutual funds, I want around Rs 6 lakh in three to five years. Which mutual fund should I invest? Right now I am able to invest around Rs 8,000 per month. Is it good to go aggressive and invest only in high risk equity funds. I need money, please suggest which funds are good for me?

Subhash Chawan, Financial Planner, Moat Wealth Advisors, responds:

If you continue to invest Rs 8,000 per month for next five years and your investment gives you a return of around nine per cent, you will be able to achieve your target corpus of Rs 6 lakh. Since your investment horizon is just three to five years, I would recommend you to invest in hybrid funds like Birla Sun Life Balanced Advantage Fund or ICICI Prudential Balanced Advantage Fund as these funds have a relatively lower volatility and has a dynamically balanced portfolio of equity and equity linked investments and fixed-income securities.
