As SBI Small & Midcap Fund is opening its doors for SIPs, is it a good idea for an aggressive investor to invest in this fund? Will it be a better bet than other smallcap funds like L&T Emerging Businesses Fund and Reliance Small Cap Fund?

Suresh Sadagopan, Founder, Ladder7 Financial Advisories, responds:

You can invest in SBI Small & Midcap Fund (now called SBI Small Cap Fund) as it is a good scheme. It is a scheme for aggressive investors who can bear a lot of risk and volatility. You may also consider L&T Emerging Businesses Fund as it has been performing well in the category.
