I am 28 years old. I would like to invest around Rs 1 lakh in mutual funds for the long time (20 - 25 years). What are the best funds to invest? Do I need to invest in both equity and debt schemes? I can take moderate or a bit moderately aggressive risk.

Take an online quiz to find out your risk profile. Often your guess will be dramatically different from your risk profile. Since you are investing for a long period of time, you can invest in equity mutual funds. However, you should choose the schemes based on your risk profile. For example, if you want to create wealth without taking too much risk and volatility, you should choose large cap mutual funds. If you can take a little more risk, you may choose flexi cap mutual funds.

We will not recommend risky options to you. We believe only experienced investors with an aggressive risk profile should invest in them.

It is always better to invest regularly every month to achieve your long-term goals like retirement. With small regular investments, you will be able to create a large corpus over the long term.
