I am investing in the following mutual fund schemes:
HDFC Small Cap Fund: Rs 10,000
HDFC Mid-Cap Opportunities Fund: Rs 8,000
HDFC Top 100 Fund: Rs 2,000
ICICI Prudential Bluechip Fund: Rs 10,000
Aditya Birla Tax relief 96: Rs 10,000
Franklin Ultra Short Term Fund: Rs 10,000.

I have a moderate to aggressive risk appetite. My goal is to accumulate Rs 2 crore in the next 10 years. My annual investment in balanced funds is Rs 2.5 lakh. Can I achieve my goal?

Puneet Oberoi, founder, Excellent Investment Advisors, responds:

You are investing Rs 40,000 via SIP in equity mutual fund schemes and Rs 10,000 in a short term fund. You would accumulate money in the following way:

Rs 40,000 via SIP with 13 per cent annual return for 10 years: Rs 94,50,000

Rs 10,000 SIP with 6 per cent returns for 10 years: Rs 16,30,000
Rs 2,50,000 lumpsum with 10 per cent returns for 10 years: Rs 6,50,000

To accumulate Rs 2 crore in 10 years, assuming an annual return of 13 per cent, you need to invest Rs 85,000 per month.
