How to create a corpus of Rs 5 crore in 15 years?

I am a 34-year-old male, working as a software engineer. I want to achieve Rs 5 crore in next 15-20 years. Please suggest me a good SIP plan to achieve this figure. I can invest maximum of Rs 2,000 per month.

It seems, you have very little idea about investing. You have unrealistic expectations from your investment. It would be better to consult a mutual fund advisor or a financial planner before proceeding further.

It is almost impossible to build a corpus of Rs 5 core in 15 years by investing Rs 2,000 per month. You must invest around Rs 1 lakh a month for the next 15 years to create a corpus of Rs 5 crore. We have assumed an annual return of 12 per cent for the calculation. If you invest Rs 2,000 per month for the next 15 years, you may hope to create a corpus of around Rs 10 lakh. This is an optimistic expectation since we have assumed a return of 12 per cent per annum.
