I am investing in the following mutual fund schemes:
Aditya Birla SL Banking & Financial Services Fund - Direct Plan - Rs 5,000
L&T Emerging Businesses Fund - Direct Plan - Rs 5,000
L&T Infrastructure Fund - Direct Plan - Rs 5,000
Motilal Oswal Multicap 35 Fund - Direct Plan - Rs 5,000
Axis Focused 25 Fund - Direct Plan – (G) - Rs 5,000
Kotak Standard Multicap Fund - (G) -Rs 5,000
L&T Tax Advantage Fund (G) - Rs 3,000
Please advise me about my portfolio. I want to invest for long term of 10 years. How much will I be able to create in 10 years?

Suresh Sadagopan, founder, Ladder7 Advisory, responds:

Most of the funds chosen are good ones. I suppose you are investing through monthly SIPs. You may be investing in Birla SL Banking & Financial Services Fund for liquidity purposes. You may be investing in L&T Tax Advantage to take advantage of the Sec 80C benefit.

I would suggest that you may rationalise the other investments into just three funds - Kotak Standard Multicap Fund, L&T Emerging Businesses Fund and ICICI Nifty Next Fifty Fund. If you invest about Rs 30,000 p.m. for about 10 years, you will end near Rs 70 lakh in about 10 years, assuming annual returns of about 12 per cent.
