How much should I invest to get Rs 1 crore after 10 years? Is there a fund which works on Shariah Law?
--Nishath Fatima

Assuming an annual return of around 12 per cent, you must invest around Rs 43,000 every month for 10 years to make a corpus of Rs 1 crore in 10 years. However, you have to keep an important point in mind while planning for long-term financial goals. One, do not take random figures. Always work with real numbers. For example, if you have a financial goal that costs x amount, it would cost more after 10 years when accounted for inflation. If you do not include inflation in the picture, you would not have enough money to achieve your financial goals.

There are two Shariah-compliant funds in the country: Tata Ethical Fund and Taurus Ethical Fund.
