I am 31 years old. My monthly income is Rs 75,000. I have a moderate risk appetite. I want to create a corpus of Rs 2.5 crore in the next 20 years. I have started investing Rs 1,000 via SIPs in each of the following schemes:

HDFC Mid-Cap Opportunities Fund
Principal Emerging Bluechip Fund
Motilal Oswal Multicap 35 Fund

How much should I invest to achieve my goal? Should I make any changes to my mutual fund portfolio?

-- Dinesh Chakravarthi

Raghvendra Nath, managing director, Ladderup Wealth Management, responds:

The amount you are investing is not sufficient to meet your goal. You will have to start investing Rs 15,000 per month via SIPs and increase it every year by at least 10 per cent to achieve your goal. You have selected some good mutual fund schemes. You should also invest in some largecap schemes like Aditya Birla Sun Life Frontline Equity Fund.
