I have a target of Rs 1.5 crore in 10 years. I plan to invest in UTI Flexicap (30%), Canara Robeco Flexi Cap (30%), Axis Blue Chip (30%) and Tata Quant Fund (10%). Could you please suggest this selection is fine or is over diversified? How long should I continue to invest in these equity schemes and at what time should I start switching and in what proportion to debt funds to be able to withdraw after ten years? What should be my monthly SIP amount to achieve the target? I am a moderate with no loan liabilities as of now.

Assuming an annual return of 12%, you will have to invest around Rs 65,000 every month to build a corpus of Rs 1.5 crore in 10 years.

As a moderate investor investing for 10 years, you can invest mostly in flexi cap funds. You can also take a small exposure to large cap schemes if you want to diversify and reduce risk. As you can see, your allocation is mostly in line with your risk profile and goal. However, it is not clear why you are investing in a quant fund. Make sure you have a valid reason.

Ideally you should shift your investment at least two or three years before your goal or whenever you achieve your target. However, you should remember that you should do your calculations accordingly.
