I am new to mutual funds. I want to know how much should I distribute in the below four schemes given I plan to do SIP of Rs 5,000 for six years in equity funds.
SBI Blue Chip Fund (G)
L&T India Value Fund (G)
Aditya Birla Sunlife Frontline Equity Fund(G)
Mirae Asset India Equity Fund(G)
My goal is to invest some Money in order to build a corpus by taking advantage of high-return of equity funds. My Investment horizon as I had mentioned is six years. My risk profile is moderately conservative.

Raghvendra Nath, managing director, Ladderup Wealth Management, responds:

It is good plan to invest money in equity market through mutual fund SIPs for an investment period of six years. Since you have a moderately conservative risk profile, I would recommend you to have a large cap biased portfolio which is less volatile than multicap funds. SBI Blue Chip Fund and Aditya Birla Sun Life Frontline Equity Fund are large cap funds and you should consider having 70-80 per cent in large cap distributed equally in both funds, 10-15 per cent in L&T India Value Fund and 10-15 per cent in Mirae Asset India Equity Fund.
