How can I invest more in Mirae Asset Emerging Bluechip Fund?

I have been investing in Mirae Asset Emerging Bluechip Fund for the last one and a half years. I am happy with its performance and want to invest more (kind of yearly step up). I am an aggressive investor with a time frame of more than ten years. Since the AMC has a limited monthly sip amount to Rs 2,500, how can I invest more in the same fund? I don’t want to invest in any of its peers because this fund has outperformed all of them by far.

Another thing I wanted to ask is do investors need to be more careful about such funds whose investment limit is capped? Why an AMC is limiting investments in such a well-performing fund? Can AMC close such kinds of funds in the future?

One, you can’t invest more than Rs 2,500 via SIP in Mirae Asset Emerging Bluechip Fund. The fund house reduced the SIP limit to 2,500 from 25,000 two years ago. It also does not allow lump sum investments.


Two, Mirae Mutual Fund restricted inflows into the scheme because it thought a higher AUM or asset under management would adversely impact the performance of the scheme. That is why it restricted lumpsum investments, later even slashed SIP investments. Mirae Asset Emerging Bluechip Fund is a consistent performer in the large & mid cap category. You don’t have to worry that the fund house is likely to shut the scheme.
