I am 36 years old. My investment horizon is around 10 years. I am investing in the following mutual fund schemes:

Axis Long Term Equity Fund - Regular: Rs 2,500
Mirae Asset India Opportunities Fund - Direct (G): Rs 1,000 (now Mirae Asset India Equity Fund)
SBI Small Cap Fund - Direct (G): Rs 1,000

I started investing in 2016 and I have been increasing my investment amount by 10 per cent every year. How can I create a corpus of Rs 50 lakh in 10 years?

Shweta Jain, founder and CEO, Investography, responds:

Assuming an annual return of 12 per cent, you need to invest Rs 22,000 per month to create a corpus of Rs 50 lakh in 10 years. You may continue with your investments. Instead of Axis Long Term Equity Fund, you may invest in Aditya Birla Sun Life Tax Relief 96. You must drastically increase your investment to meet your goal. Or, you should extend your investment horizon.
