I am currently investing Rs 3,000 via monthly SIPs in each of the two ELSS funds: Reliance Tax Saver Fund and ICICI Long Term Equity Fund. From this financial year, I am planning to stop investing in Reliance Tax Saver and invest instead in Mirae Tax Saver/Axis Long Term Equity Fund. I think both these schemes are more consistent than Reliance Tax Saver. I wish to continue with ICICI Tax Saver, though. My ELSS investments are for long term horizon for more than 5-7 years. Any thoughts?

Reliance Tax Saver Fund is underperforming both its benchmark and category in one- and three-year periods. The scheme is lagging its category average even in the five-year horizon. You may stop your SIP in it.

Both Mirae Asset Tax Saver and Axis Long Term Equity Fund are part of our recommended ELSS mutual funds list. You may start investing in them from this financial year.
