I am a 29-year-old working professional. I have been investing Rs 2,000 in HDFC Balanced Fund, Rs 1,000 each in SBI Bluechip Fund and DSP BlackRock Micro Cap Fund and Franklin India Smaller Companies Fund since 2016. Is my portfolio good? I want to invest Rs 3,000 extra in mutual funds. Can I increase the amount in my current portfolio? My horizon is 20 to 25 years, with medium risk.

Chokkalingam Palaniappan, Director, Prakala Wealth Management, responds:

You are young and your investment horizon is also longer. All the funds that you are currently investing are decent funds. However, you may stop SIPs in all the funds and reorganize your fresh SIP investments as follows, including the additional Rs 3,000 investment to get better returns. You may hold on to the existing investments as it is.

L&T Emerging Businesses Fund: Rs. 4,000 per month
Reliance Small Cap Fund: Rs. 4,000 per month
