I have two SIPs of Rs 1,000 each in two schemes: HDFC Balanced Fund and HDFC High Interest Fund - Dynamic Plan. My investment horizon is 15 to 20 years. I am about to increase my SIP to Rs 7,000-8,000 per month. Should I invest in the same funds or should I look for other schemes? Moreover, I am also in need of funds, say, two years from now. Tell me a suitable investment plan for it.

You have not shared your goals and risk profile. So, it is not possible to say whether the schemes you have selected are ideal for you. However, since you have a long-term investment horizon of 15-20 years, you should have ideally invested in pure equity schemes that invest the entire corpus in stocks. You have invested in an equity-oriented hybrid scheme and a dynamic debt fund. Equity-oriented hybrid schemes invest in a mix of equity (minimum 65 per cent) and debt, and they are recommended to new investors or conservative equity investors. Dynamic bond funds are ideal for conservative investors looking to park money for a few years. It is not clear why you picked a dynamic bond fund when you have a very long investment horizon.

You may invest in a short-term debt scheme for a period of two years.
