If you have a moderate risk appetite and an investment horizon of five to seven years, you may consider investing in multicap schemes. Multicap schemes invest across sectors and capitalisations based on the view of the fund manager. These schemes are considered ideal for investors with a moderate risk appetite. However, if you want to diversify your mutual fund portfolio to reduce risk, you may consider investing a small percentage of your corpus in largecap mutual funds.
