I am a college student and an unsophisticated investor. I can invest Rs 1,000 per month out of my pocket money. I want to start investing via an SIP. Is there any mutual fund scheme in which I can invest?

Shweta Jain, founder, Investography, responds:

You should consider long-term investing. I would recommend you to invest in Franklin India Prima Fund or Franklin India Bluechip Fund. If you're looking for short-term investments, you may invest in IDFC Bond Fund Short Term through an SIP.
