I am a new Investor. I have started an SIP with three ELSSs in Reliance, DSP BalckRock and Axis Mutual Fund. Total amount invested in these funds is Rs 5,000. I have also started an SIP of Rs 3,000 with DSP BlackRock Micro Cap Fund. I have an RD of Rs 5,000 with HDFC. I intend to invest another Rs 10,000 as I need money approximately 1.5 years down the line. Where should I invest? Also, do I need to make any changes in my existing portfolio? --Ratnankur

Shifali Satsangee, Founder & CEO, Funds Ve'daa, responds:

For an investment horizon of 1.5 years, the investor could choose a short-term debt fund with an accrual strategy and good credit quality papers, keeping in mind the exit load which is scheme-specific.

The investor can fine tune the portfolio by paring down the ELSS schemes from three to two schemes.
