Ask ET Mutual Funds: Can you suggest some better funds?

I am 30 years old and I am investing Rs 10,000 every month through SIPs in Birla Sun Life Manufacturing Equity Fund (Rs 5,000) and Franklin India Prima Plus (Rs 5,000). I have been investing in them for the past two years. What's your opinion about these funds? If some better funds are available, please let me know.

You have chosen two multicap funds. Franklin India Prima Plus has an impressive track record. However, Birla Sun Life Manufacturing Equity Fund is new fund that has been around only for the last two years. Though its performance has been impressive so far, you should keep a close watch on it. It is always better to invest in a scheme with a long-term performance record. You should look at its performance through different market cycles.
