Ask ET Mutual Funds: Can SBI Bluechip Fund give negative returns?
I have invested in SBI Bluechip Fund. I wanted to ask whether it can go negative. Or can one loose the principal amount ?

Theoretically, you can lose money in an equity mutual fund scheme, that is, the risk you are taking while investing in an equity mutual fund scheme. Yes, it is also possible for a scheme to offer negative returns. For example, you can look at the one-year performance of gold funds.
Most of the schemes have offered negative returns. However, SBI Bluechip fund is a good performer with a long-term track record. You can continue to hold investments in this scheme.
