I have long-term plans: to buy a house after five years; fund for my child’s education after three years; tax saving and wealth creation.

My current investment details are:
Aditya Birla Sun Life Pure Value Fund: Rs 3,000
Aditya Birla Sun Life Tax Relief 96: Rs 5,000
Canara Robeco Emerging Equities Fund: Rs 3,000
SBI Bluechip Fund: Rs 3,000
SBI Small Cap Fund: Rs 2000
ICICI Prudential Pharma Healthcare And Diagnostics (P.H.D) Fund: Rs 2,000

Am I investing in the right funds? Or I need to change any scheme?

Shweta Jain, founder, Investography, responds:

You have not mentioned the amount you need to meet your goals. Your SIP portfolio could be close to Rs 14 lakh in the next five years. To build a fudn for your child's education, you should invest in debt mutual funds since you have a medium term investment horizon of three years. Start additional SIPs in debt funds for the purpose. I would ask you to avoid thematic funds and mid- and small cap funds, as you don't have a very long investment horizon.
