Based on current average market-cap levels, AMFI may increase the largecap cut-off to approximately Rs 1.10 lakh crore.
Around six midcap stocks may get upgraded to the largecap segment in the AMFI rejig including Bosch, Siemens Energy India, Lodha Developers, Zydus Lifesciences, Lenskart Solutions, LG Electronics India.

Seven stocks may get demoted to mid cap segment from their currently large cap status. These seven stocks include Godrej Consumer Products, Ambuja Cements, Tata Consumer Products, Indus Towers, Vedanta, HDFC AMC, Indian Railway Finance Corporation.
Nearly 12 stocks may get upgraded to midcap segment from their smallcap segment such as RBL Bank, Ather ENergy, Welspun Corporation, Aegis Logistics, Gland Pharma, Aditya Infotech, Sterlite Technologies, J.B. Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals. The other four names are border line names in the small cap segment that may get upgraded to mid cap segment.
These four stocks are Cupid, K.P.R. Mill, Global health, and Emcure Pharmaceuticals, the report said. Three new stocks may get mid cap status which includes SBI Funds Management, Manipal Health Enterprises, Indo-MIM.
Based on current average market-cap levels, AMFI may increase the largecap cut-off to approximately Rs 1.10 lakh crore (compared to Rs 1.06 lakh crore as of June 2026) and the midcap threshold to be around Rs 36,500 crore (compared to Rs 33,600 crore as of June 2026).
Container Corporation, Cochin Shipyard among 16 mid cap stocks that may get demoted to small cap segment. The other 16 stocks includes Procter & Gamble, UCO Bank, Godfrey Philips India, Blue Star, Escorts Kubota, Indian Renewable Energy Development, Tata Investment Corporation, Delhivery, Dalmia Bharat, United Breweries, Housing & Urban Development, L&T Technology Services, and PI Industries.
Dhoot Transmission, Milky Mist Dairy Food, Lalithaa Jewellery Mart, ESDS Software Solution, Molbio Diagnostics, Juniper Green Energy, Horizon Industrial Parks, Karamtara Engineering, Augmont Enterprises, Moneyview, Manipal Payment & Identity, Shiprocket, Symbiotec Pharmalab, Hero Motors, Kanohar Electricals, Waterways Leisure Tourism, Leap India, Kusumgar, Lohia Corp, Elevate Campuses, Rentomojo, SS Retail, and Prasol Chemicals are among 61 stocks that may enter the smallcap segment in H1 CY27.

The change in categorization doesn’t lead to incremental inflows or outflow. The active mutual fund managers keep an eye on the list while taking fresh/modifying positions in stocks in different categories of schemes, said the release.
The cut-off period spans from July 1, 2026, to December 31, 2026. The categorisation will take effect from February 1, 2027.
