I am 32 years old. I have a moderate risk appetite. I want to invest for my child's education (18 years - Rs 60 Lakh). Currently, I am investing in:
Aditya Birla Sun Life Tax Relief 96 - Growth - Rs 1,000
Kotak Bluechip Fund - Regular Plan - Growth - Rs 1,000
Mirae Asset India Equity Fund - Growth - Rs 2,000
SBI Magnum Multi Cap Fund - Growth - Rs 2,000
SBI Blue Chip Fund - Growth - Rs 5,000
ICICI Prudential Bluechip Fund - Growth - Rs 5,000
Am I investing in the right schemes?

Shifali Satsangee, Founder, Funds Veéda, responds:

Your portfolio has three large cap schemes, two multi cap schemes and a tax saver. I am assuming you have SIPs running in them and all these SIPs are in your name, but linked to the goal of your child's education and for your tax saving. I am assuming you have inflated your target amount that you need for your child's education. If you want to link one specific scheme to your child's goal, you could stop your SIP in Kotak Bluechip Fund and instead start your child's SIP with the same amount in HDFC Children’s Gift Fund. Since it is a scheme that is sacrosanct for the child, has a very old and good track record and an added benefit of free accidental insurance cover to the maximum extent of Rs 10 lakh for the guardian. Your schemes are good performers. You may continue with them.
