Am I investing in a good portfolio?
I am 33 years old. I want to build a corpus of Rs 75 lakh in 16- 18 years. I am going to invest Rs 8,000 every month in following mutual funds:

HDFC Balanced Fund (direct, growth plan): Rs 2,000
Kotak Select Focus Fund (direct, growth): Rs 2,000
Principal Emerging Bluechip Fund (direct, growth): Rs 2,000
L&T Emerging Businesses Fund (direct, growth): Rs 2,000

How is my portfolio? Please guide

Deepesh Mehta, Certified Financial Planner, Grow Wealth, responds:

To build a corpus of Rs 75 lakh in 18 years, you need to do an additional SIP of Rs 2,000 per month, assuming 12 per cent CAGR. Further, your two funds are similar in nature and hence I would suggest you to stop your investment in Principal Emerging Bluechip Fund and start an SIP in Mirae Asset India opportunities Fund. This should bring a balance to your portfolio.
