Amid volatile markets and an 11% fall in benchmark indices in March, mutual funds increased equity deployment to tap the correction despite global headwinds. Cash holdings dropped 12% month-on-month to a 16-month low of Rs 1.86 lakh crore in March, down from Rs 2.09 lakh crore in February, according to ACE MF data.
