21 equity mutual fund schemes offer over 20% in 10 years

Around 21 equity schemes have offered more than 20% in the 10-year horizon, an analysis of performance showed. Around 144 schemes have completed 10 years of existence in the market.

These 21 schemes were from mid cap, small cap, multi cap, ELSS, large & mid cap, and flexi cap categories. Around eight mid cap schemes offered more than 20% in the 10-year horizon. Seven small cap, three large & mid cap, one ELSS, flexi cap, and multi cap schemes also offered more than 20% in 10-year horizon.

We considered all equity schemes like large cap, mid cap, large & mid cap, small cap, ELSS, multi cap, flexi cap,focused fund, contra and value. We considered regular and growth options.


Toppers in the list were from small cap categories. Nippon India Small Cap Fund, the topper in the category, gave more than 20% in the 10-year horizon. The scheme is the largest scheme in the small cap category. SBI Small Cap Fund gave 26.11%, followed by DSP Small Cap Fund which gave 24.41%.


Only one ELSS scheme, Quant Tax Plan, offered 23.46% in the 10-year period. Mirae Asset Emerging Bluechip Fund, the largest scheme in the large & mid cap category based on assets managed, gave 23.16% during the same time period.

Kotak Emerging Equity Fund, the second largest scheme in the mid cap category, gave 22.73%. HSBC Midcap Fund gave 20.20% in the 10-year horizon.

Four schemes from Quant Mutual Fund offered more than 20% in the 10-year horizon. Two schemes from SBI Mutual Fund, Kotak Mutual Fund, and HDFC Mutual Fund offered over 20% during the same time period.
