15 top-performing equity mutual funds with 20%+ CAGR in 3, 5, and 7 years
Around 15 equity mutual funds have delivered over 20% CAGR on lump-sum investments over the past three, five, and seven years, according to an analysis by ETMutualFunds. A total of 176 funds have completed seven years in the market.

Edelweiss Mid Cap Fund offered 25.22%, 28.94%, and 23.04% CAGR over three, five, and seven years, respectively. Four other mid-cap funds—HDFC Mid Cap Fund, Invesco India Midcap Fund, Kotak Midcap Fund, and Mahindra Manulife Mid Cap Fund—also delivered over 20% CAGR during the same periods.

Mahindra Manulife Multi Cap Fund, a multi-cap fund, delivered 20.17% CAGR over the last three years, 25.01% over five years, and 20.63% over seven years.
Motilal Oswal Midcap Fund and Nippon India Growth Mid Cap Fund also featured in the list, posting over 20% CAGR across all three periods.
Quant Small Cap Fund, the largest fund managed by Quant Mutual Fund, posted 24.68%, 33.57%, and 26.50% CAGR over three, five, and seven years.
The largest and oldest contra fund, SBI Contra Fund, recorded 20.90%, 29.17%, and 21.50% CAGR over three, five, and seven years, while Sundaram Small Cap Fund maintained over 20% CAGR across all three periods.
Tata Mid Cap Fund delivered 21.70%, 23.97%, and 20.51% CAGR over the last three, five, and seven years.
Several other funds delivered over 20% CAGR in one or two periods but were not included in this list, as the focus was on funds achieving over 20% CAGR consistently across all three horizons.
For this analysis, we considered equity mutual funds, excluding sectoral and thematic funds, and focused on regular, growth-oriented schemes. The calculations assume a lump-sum investment of Rs 1 lakh, with performance measured over the last three, five, and seven years.
