Stock market update: Sugar stocks up as market rises

NEW DELHI: Sugar shares closed higher in the Friday's session.
Ponni Sugars(Erode)(up 5.57%), Rajshree Sugars & Chemicals(up 3.73%), EID Parry(up 2.20%), Balrampur Chini Mills(up 1.86%), Uttam Sugar Mills(up 1.74%), Sakthi Sugars(up 1.67%), MAGADHSUGAR(up 1.54%), K.M.Sugar Mills(up 1.52%), Kothari Sugars & Chemicals(up 1.42%) and Bannari Amman Sugars(up 1.28%) stood among the top gainers.
Dharani Sugars & Chemicals(down 2.52%), DCM Shriram Industries(down 1.34%), Dwarikesh Sugar Industries(down 0.70%), KCP Sugar & Industries(down 0.33%), Vishwaraj Sugar Industries(down 0.29%) and AVADHSUGAR(down 0.28%) were among the top losers of the day.
The NSE Nifty50 index ended 98.4 points up at 17956.6, while the 30-share BSE Sensex closed up 303.15 points at 60261.18.
IndusInd Bank(up 2.09%), Adani Enterprises(up 2.03%), Tata Steel(up 1.99%), Eicher Motors(up 1.89%), Infosys(up 1.56%), ICICI Bank(up 1.49%), Bharat Petroleum Corporation(up 1.46%), Divis Laboratories(up 1.4%), Bajaj Finance(up 1.35%) and UltraTech Cement(up 1.34%) stood among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.
On the other hand, closed in the red.
