Stock market update: Sugar stocks up as market rises

NEW DELHI: Sugar shares closed higher in the Tuesday's session.

Bannari Amman Sugars(up 3.05%), Dhampur Sugar Mills(up 2.29%), Ugar Sugar Works(up 2.10%), DCM Shriram Industries(up 2.00%), Shree Renuka Sugars(up 1.67%), Uttam Sugar Mills(up 1.67%), Kothari Sugars & Chemicals(up 1.66%), AVADHSUGAR(up 1.62%), KCP Sugar & Industries(up 1.44%) and Dwarikesh Sugar Industries(up 1.44%) stood among the top gainers.

were among the top losers of the day.


The NSE Nifty50 index ended 386.95 points up at 17274.3, while the 30-share BSE Sensex closed up 1276.66 points at 58065.47.

IndusInd Bank(up 5.45%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone(up 4.93%), Bajaj Finance(up 4.42%), Coal India(up 3.86%), Hero MotoCorp(up 3.81%), UPL Ltd(up 3.74%), Tata Consultancy(up 3.56%), Hindalco Industries(up 3.44%), Bajaj Finserv(up 3.31%) and JSW Steel(up 3.15%) stood among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Power Grid Corporation of India(down 1.11%) and Dr Reddys Laboratories(down 0.13%) closed in the red.
