Stock market update: Sugar stocks up as market rises

NEW DELHI: Sugar shares closed higher in the Monday's session.
Sakthi Sugars(up 4.96%), Ugar Sugar Works(up 4.94%), BAJAJHIND(up 4.70%), Balrampur Chini Mills(up 4.61%), Kothari Sugars & Chemicals(up 4.40%), Dhampur Sugar Mills(up 4.19%), Simbhaoli Sugars(up 4.04%), Uttam Sugar Mills(up 3.90%), Rajshree Sugars & Chemicals(up 3.66%) and Mawana Sugars(up 3.38%) stood among the top gainers.
Bannari Amman Sugars(down 0.14%) were among the top losers of the day.
The NSE Nifty50 index ended 382.95 points up at 18053.4, while the 30-share BSE Sensex closed up 1335.05 points at 60611.74.
HDFC Bank(up 10.01%), HDFC(up 9.29%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone(up 4.17%), HDFC LIFE INSURANCE(up 3.9%), Kotak Mahindra Bank(up 3.34%), Hero MotoCorp(up 3.2%), Hindalco Industries(up 2.98%), Divis Laboratories(up 2.69%), Hindustan Unilever(up 2.42%) and Larsen & Toubro(up 2.03%) stood among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.
On the other hand, Infosys(down 1.08%), TATA CONSUMER PRODUCTS(down 0.22%) and Titan Company Ltd(down 0.15%) closed in the red.
