Stock market update: Sugar stocks up as market rises

NEW DELHI: Sugar stocks were trading higher on Thursday at 10:45AM

Ugar Sugar Works(up 2.90%), Triveni Engineering & Industries(up 2.47%), AVADHSUGAR(up 2.04%), Uttam Sugar Mills(up 1.62%), Shree Renuka Sugars(up 1.61%), Sakthi Sugars(up 1.45%), Rajshree Sugars & Chemicals(up 1.32%), BAJAJHIND(up 1.20%), EID Parry(up 1.05%) and Dhampur Sugar Mills(up 0.75%) were among the top gainers.

KCP Sugar & Industries(down 0.95%), Dharani Sugars & Chemicals(down 0.59%) and Vishwaraj Sugar Industries(down 0.17%) were among the top losers.


The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 121.9 points up at 17288.8, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was up 425.61 points at 58110.4 at around 10:45AM.

HDFC(up 3.14%), Power Grid Corporation of India(up 3.11%), Bharat Petroleum Corporation(up 2.4%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries(up 2.23%), Titan Company Ltd(up 1.83%), Indian Oil Corporation(up 1.78%), Grasim Industries(up 1.7%), Mahindra & Mahindra(up 1.62%), Asian Paints(up 1.27%) and Shree Cement(up 1.21%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Larsen & Toubro(down 0.99%), ICICI Bank(down 0.76%), Axis Bank(down 0.68%), Tata Steel(down 0.49%), Cipla(down 0.43%), Hindalco Industries(down 0.38%), TATA CONSUMER PRODUCTS(down 0.23%), JSW Steel(down 0.22%), Tata Motors(down 0.17%) and Bharti Airtel(down 0.04%) were trading in the red.
